Meaningful Learning through Music: Some Highlights
Who are we?
The OKM Music Program is run together by Ms. Frederick and Mr. Griffin. Ms. Frederick completed her Music Degree at McGill University, Education Degree at UBC, is currently working on her Masters in Educational Technology, and specializes on the bass. Mr. Griffin completed his Music Degree at the University of Toronto, Education Degree at UBC, is currently working on his Masters in Business Administration at the University of Fredericton, and specializes on the alto sax. Both are extremely passionate about music education and can be found performing in a variety of groups throughout the Okanagan. |

OKM Jazz Christmas Project 2020

Spreading kindness during a pandemic.
In order to help bring some messages to residents and a little love to some families, we partnered with 3 long-term care homes and created the OKM Jazz Christmas Project 2020. OKM Jazz 12 students created a virtual performance of the song "Silver Bells" that included personalized messages to residents from their family members.
